List of the rich kenya pastors

Prophet Owuor and 9 other rich, controversialls

– Kenya is home to thousands of churches and quite possible, uncountable

– Some churches, however, do stand out due to the prominence and lifestyles of the head pastors

– This list includes the Kiunas, Prophet Owuor and others

Obviously, we do not have the exact figures of the net worth of these men of God. We can only speculate how much they are worth by the properties they own and in instances they have been involved in that revealed the worth of something they own.

So, let’s speculate, shall we?

The Kiunas

The family home in Karen, the Jubilee Christian Church in Parklands and the flashy lifestyle…need I say more?

Photos Bishop Allan and Rev Kathy Kiuna’s home made rounds on social media as rumours abound that they were even planning on installing a hanging swimming pool.

In a past interview, Rev Kathy Kiuna was quoted as saying that many in their congregation live well which obviously translated in a prosperous church and their wealthy lifestyle.

“Many in our congregation are living well; this is just the tip of the iceberg, we are only warming up, we are coming. We were called by God to raise leaders and that is exactly what we are doing — raising people to be the best they can be, and as they grow, so do we. Besides, you can never pay a pastor enough,” said Kathy.

Well, you only have to look at her billion shillings sanctuary in Karen recently opened by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Reverend Reinhard Bonnke.

FEM Family Church new sanctuary.

The grand opening of the Faith Evangelistic Ministries Family Church was graced by dignitaries and celebrities, as well as led by special guest singer Pastor Solly Mahlangu who is famed for the Wahamba Nathi hit song.

Did I forget to mention she mentored the Kiunas? Yes, I did. And she did.

Money talks.

Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.

The Jesus Is Alive Ministries and former Starehe Member of Parliament makes the list. With plans to construct twin towers along Haile Selassie Avenue in Nairobi, she can’t miss out on the list.

It is said that the construction of the building is estimated to have a budget around the billion mark.

Having made inroads into government, and planning to run for Nairobi governor in the 2017 General Election, it can only mean she has a lot more money than we can imagine.

Brother Paul Pattni.

Brother Kamlesh Pattni

This ninja who was at the center of the Goldenberg (over KSh 60 billion) and Laico Regency scandals turned to the Lord and founded a church as well.

Despite being Hindu, he converted to Christianity and was baptized Brother Paul Pattni.

He owns a chain of airport duty-free shops and has investments in Mombasa, Nairobi and even in the Maasai Mara National Park.

His wealth knows no bounds as it was reported in 2014 that he allegedly transferred the International Casino on Nairobi’s Museum Hill in a deal worth KSh 1.2 billion.

Prophet Owuor.

Prophet David Owuor

Shall we start with the KSh 25 million Mercedes s500 he owns after receiving it from members of his Ministry of Repentance and Holiness church?

Or the convoy of vehicles that accompany him everywhere he goes? Did you see them at the recent crusade he held in Nakuru county over the weekend?

Streets of Nakuru were cleaned using soap and water in preparation for Prophet owours crusade in the county

Speculation time…could he be funded by his foreign partners who accompany him on his globe-trotting tours? A foundation by the name John Templeton is said to fund him.

However, do let us know if you find out otherwise?

Thomas Wahome

This ninja of the Helicopter Church Ministries made news when he accused Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu of stealing his lorry estimated to be worth KSh 3.3 million.

In 2014, he claimed to earn KSh 40,000 a month from his work in the church but reports had it that he raked in millions of shillings a month.

His ex-wife revealed that the pastor got 500 visitors a day who parted with KSh 10,000 before seeing him and that he charged them KSh 3,600 if they wanted to know if their names are written in the book of life.

He drives a Range Rover Sport and has a fleet of other cars in his name.

Prophet Kanyari.

Pastor Kanyari

What would this list be without Kanyari? He, of the 310 seed money, is almost completing the construction of his multimillion shilling mansion along Kangundo Road.

Kanyari’s house under construction.

Seems being exposed for being a fake miracle worker did not stop him as it was reported he drives, among other cars, a Range Rover and a Toyota V8 with a combined price ranging around KSh 20 million.

Pius Muiru.

It was reported that in 2007, he, of the Maximum Miracle Center, allegedly raised KSh 100 million to vie for the top seat in the country. I don’t think I need to say anymore, do I?

Mark Kariuki

From the grandiose nature of his wedding to his second wife, we can only speculate as to how wealthy this Overseer of Deliverance Church is worth.

Quick question first, did you watch his wedding on the Samantha Bridal show? Let me break it down for you.

His wedding was attended by 6,000 people and held at the Kasarani Gymnasium. It took fice catering companies to cater to all his guests as 300 VIPs were attended to at Safari Park.

The ball park figure of renting the gymnasium is KSh 20,000 and hour- and Mark’s wedding apparently took seven hours.

Kariuki also has interests in King’s Academy School, King’s Medical Center, Homologeo Industries which involve body products, tailoring and poultry projects.

Maina Njenga.

The former Mungiki leader found Christ and began a church, the Hope International Ministries based in Kitengela.

You can only imagine the uproar this caused considering Mungiki is behind numerous unsolved murders in Kenya.

His wealth, however, is a cause for wonder.

Maina Njenga.

It is said he could be worth KSh 2 billion and counting. He owns property in real estate  as well as land in Kajiado, Laikipia, Mombasa Road and Nyandarua all totaling about 33,000 acres.
