Untold story:How young Uhuru Quit His Job and started selling Vegetables

Every river has its source and a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Talking about journeys, many of us know of His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta as a privileged son of Kenya’s founding father – a man who had it all.
Well, while that is partly true, did you know that he spent most of his 20s selling vegetables? Or that he worked as a bank teller earning a humble monthly salary? This story is not meant to intimidate you but to shower you with confidence and hope that you can start pursuing your dreams right now, no matter how little they are, and still make it in life.
Starting Small
Right after finishing his campus education, young Uhuru got a job at Kenya Commercial Bank, Kipande House Branch where he worked as a teller. Different sources indicate that he earned Ksh600/- per month and although we cannot authenticate that, it is indeed true that this was a job like any other and that the young man did not enjoy any special privileges owing to his social status.
In a past interview he said “It wasn’t an easy thing balancing cash as a teller, but at the end of the day it taught you how to stand on your own without necessarily having a shadow behind your back.” (Source )
Selling Vegetables
After working in the bank for a brief period of time, aged 28, Uhuru left and set up his own business of selling vegetables. This again was contrary to many people’s expectations especially given the negative perception that is associated with farming business against white collar jobs. And just like most of us, he had to deal with the usual problem of “lack of capital”.
Armed with one old pick-up truck, he ventured out and started moving from farm to farm collecting vegetables in person and delivering them to the market. Highlighting his humble beginnings as an entrepreneur he was once quoted saying “From one small pick-up, I used to sell French beans. We used to collect beans all the way from Meru all the way down and then package and export.”

Scaling Up
In order to scale up the business, young Uhuru was involved in the day-to-day running of the business. This helped him understand the hustle better than everyone else and that meant he could maximize on available resources to grow the enterprise even better.
Six years after starting, the company (Wilham Kenya Limited) had grown into a multi-million investment owning several lorries and pickups. The business network had also expanded vastly both abroad and locally…and he sold it for a “decent” profit as he prepared to venture into politics.
Milking Cows & Hard Work
Faced with the challenge of lack of capital, the young entrepreneur then knew he had only one bullet remaining – and that is hard work. He would wake up earlier than everyone else, and sleep in late hours. In a recent TV interview on Jeff Koinange Live, one of his close counterparts from the early days, Cyrus Jirongo, told the interviewer of how Uhuru would wake up at the crack of dawn to milk cows.
“One day we spent a night with Uhuru at my farm in Kitale, in the morning at 6 oclock Uhuru Kenyatta was in my Boma milking cows…he loaded the milk on the pick-up truck before I could even wake up.” (Source )
Take-Home
But why share this story? The goal is to inspire the next great entrepreneur who may be out there wondering where to start from. Even the man whose prosperity we all talk about today started off just like you.
As you can see, in order to grow a business you only need three things (a)A vision (b)Willingness to work hard (c)Passion. Who would have thought the multi-million agri-business venture we see today was started on the back of an old pick-up!
And you don’t need to have a pick-up either. We have seen people start businesses with absolutely nothing in the pocket. We have seen people create multinationals from briefcase companies.
You have absolutely no reason to fail in life. Only be prepared to do the dirty work first so that you can dig out the gold. Walk out of your comfort zone and work harder/smarter than everyone else.

ODM LEGISTLATORS NOW PRAISE UHURUTO STYLE OF LEADERSHIP

President Uhuru Kenyatta & his deputy, William Ruto's non combative nature of politics is seemingly receiving praises from unlikely quarters. ODM lawmaker, Hon Ken Obura applauded the digital duo & acknowledged the need to rebrand ODM Party so as to atleast have a chance to tame UhuRuto. The vocal legislator castigated his party's top leadership that always react in a violent manner when faced with criticism. "Hiring of goons to counter a divergent opinion will eventually kill ODM & this must be stopped by rebranding the party", said Hon Obura Meanwhile President Uhuru Kenyatta will tour Ukambani region tomorrow to initiate a series of development projects. Ukambani region has of late been on the news for the wrong reasons majoring in political thuggery as was witnessed in Makueni. Political pundits describe the atmosphere of Ukambani as a virgin land that is getting polluted each passing day by politicians supremacy wars. Dr Mutua should be given a chance for the voice of reason to prevail in Ukambani.

RAILA TOO SELFISH TO GIVE POWER TO A YOUTH POLITICIAN IN ODM

Why raila hates Ababu secretary general
Raila odinga doesn’t want Ababu Namwamba has ODM secretary general. Ababu is young, youthful and energetic and his support country wide is growing each passing day. Raila is scared of this growing popularity of the flamboyant Member of Parliament and fiving him a powerful post of secretary general will only make him more popular.

Agnes zani is just like a toothless dog; to Raila Zani is the perfect candidate for the powerful post. Zani will never challenge Raila for the top post i.e the person who will get the ODM ticket to run for president. Raila is getting old and so 2017 will be his last stab on the presidency so he is afraid of youthful completion from people like Ababu namwamba who has been linked to the deputy president William ruto and might be a mole in the cord coalition.

This happened during Uhuru kenyattas welcome party after he attended the status conference in the hague. Uhuru kenyatta is facing murder charges, forceful eviction, rape and displacement of people but the cases are likely to be dropped very soon since the prosecutor, fatau bensouda doesn't have enough evidence.

After this incident i think mr uhuru kenyatta should consider looking for a new and well trained security detail since its clear that the ones he has now a sleeping on their job.
